The Hackney's Hope vocational program offers to assess and meet the needs of vocational discovery. This program is also intended to develop general job skills and work habits related to appropriate behaviors, dependability, time management, working in a group, and safe work habits.
Our participants develop meaningful relationships while building self esteem and confidence through learning horse handling skills.
The curriculum is designed on an individual basis to accommodate her or his needs and goals. The following are examples of areas of study through which participants are exposed to all aspects of stable management.
Upon admission to the program, participants are assigned an advisor and a job coach who has been trained by our staff to teach in the areas that the student plans to study. The participant and job coach will work one-to-one until he or she has achieved his or her goals and can work independently.
At that time the participant is awarded a certificate of course completion and can choose to remain at Hackney's Hope as a volunteer to practice and obtain further skills.
